Traditional Yogic and contemporary techniques to consciously guide the breath for specific outcomes

Rooted in yoga traditions, Breathwork combines ancient and contemporary meditation techniques for channeling and directing energy with the breath. Practiced either seated or reclined, this style of meditation includes controlling the breath’s speed, retaining the breath, manipulating the nostrils, noticing where the breath is in the body, and more. Breathwork can enhance athletic performance, build focus in the workplace, and create openness in relationships. More mind-body benefits include feeling calm, relaxed, energized, or sleep prep.

This breathwork class slowly guides you through Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing) to restore balance in your body and nourish your mind. You’ll finish feeling more equipped to take on the day. This class previously aired on January 17, 2024.

This class guides you through a simple, effective breathwork practice that cuts through stress to initiate a new, elevated state of being. Link your breath with gentle Swimmers Arm movements and accessible mudras to use these techniques to open your shoulders and energize your heart. This class previously aired on January 3, 2024. This is the first of five classes in Kia’s Joyful Living Series, which guides you into the new year (and any transition) with breathwork, meditation, movement, and Kundalini yoga practices. This series is designed as a weekly progression, with each class intended for one week at a time. We recommend completing one class each week, practicing at least once before moving on to the next class. As you breathe, you’ll draw energy through the Crown Chakra down into the Heart Chakra to bask in your inner light. This class previously aired on January 3, 2024.

Purge any lingering anger from your body and mind in this simple, effective Kundalini practice that shifts your state. In a brisk yet relaxing sequence, practice Fists Of Anger and a standing breath kriya with Four-Stroke Breath and Eight-Stroke Alternate Nostril Breath. It's a great sequence to clear negative energy or to use as a 40-day practice. This is class 8 in Kia’s 8-week Relax & Renew Series that helps to enhance your well-being by reducing stress and creating the capacity to react calmly. This series is designed as a weekly progression, with each class intended for one week at a time. This expansive Kundalini class blends breathwork and mantra to bring your mind to a peaceful place, opening you to a super-state. Practice Breath of Fire and Eight-Stroke Inhale followed by the mantra SA TA NA MA RA MA DA SA SA SE SO HUNG (Infinity, life, death, rebirth, sun, moon, earth, infinity, I am that). If you’ve never tried a breath-mantra combo, you’re in for a treat! Practice Vishama Vritti Pranayama, a calming breathwork technique that uses a 1:2 breath ratio, doubling your exhalation for whatever duration your inhalation is. If in doubt, take this class! It completely rejuvenates your state of being, clearing out the old and ushering in calm, presence, and connection. Practice a seated breathwork sequence with segments of Breath of Fire, long deep breaths, and mudras, followed by relaxation. Kia recommends this class (one of her personal favorites) for a 40-day Sadhana (spiritual practice).
